About Me
Rooted in curiosity. Shaped by connection. Driven by learning.
Artist at heart. Lifelong Learner. Global Thinker.
I've always been drawn to the intersection of creativity, culture, and human connection. My path has taken me from California's agricultural heartland to art studios, language classrooms, and international learning environments. Along the way, one thing has remained constant: a curiosity about how people experience the world, learn from one another, and grow.

Where growth begins.
Where growth begins.
I grew up on a produce farm in California's San Joaquin Valley, where the rhythms of agriculture were part of everyday life. Growing up in a place shaped by the land, its people, and their work gave me an early appreciation for the relationships and experiences that connect us.

It was an environment that encouraged resourcefulness, adaptability, and an awareness that no two seasons, challenges, or people are quite the same.

Looking back, I see how those early experiences helped shape my curiosity about the world beyond my own community and my appreciation for the different perspectives people bring to it.
Thinking like an artistÂ
My background in studio art has shaped far more than my creative interests. It has influenced how I observe, question, experiment, and solve problems.

Art taught me to look beyond the obvious, embrace ambiguity, and approach challenges with curiosity rather than a predetermined answer. It also taught me the value of iteration: trying something, stepping back, reflecting, and discovering a new direction.

Today, those same instincts influence how I approach learning design. I enjoy finding creative ways to make complex ideas approachable, translating abstract concepts into engaging experiences, and designing with both purpose and imagination.

For me, creativity isn't simply about making something visually appealing. It's about making something practical and/or meaningful.

Language, Culture, and Connection
My experiences with language learning and teaching deepened my fascination with the ways people communicate, connect, and make meaning.

Learning a language is an exercise in curiosity, humility, and persistence. It asks us to step outside what feels familiar, experiment with new ways of expressing ourselves, and become comfortable not having all the answers.

Teaching languages and art introduced me to the other side of that experience: creating an environment where learners of different backgrounds and ages feel supported, challenged, and confident enough to practice.

These experiences reinforced my belief that meaningful learning is rarely passive. It happens through participation, feedback, reflection, and the willingness to try something new.

They also sparked a lasting interest in intercultural learning and the ways our backgrounds shape how we understand and engage with the world.
My Professional Journey
My interest in culture, communication, and learning led me into international education and exchange, where I've spent my career designing, managing, and facilitating programs that connect people across cultures, communities, and professional fields.

Beyond the logistics of bringing people together, much of my work has focused on shaping the learning experiences that make those connections meaningful. From participant preparation and orientation to professional development, experiential learning, reflection, and evaluation, I've helped create opportunities for people to build confidence, broaden their perspectives, and apply what they've learned in real-world settings.

Working across cultures and alongside diverse participants, organizations, and stakeholders has strengthened my ability to balance strategic planning with adaptability, creativity, and a deep understanding of the human side of learning.

These experiences have also shaped my growing interest in digital learning design and emerging technologies. I'm currently expanding my practice in instructional design and AI for learning, exploring how thoughtful design and technology can make learning more accessible, engaging, and effective.

For me, this isn't a departure from my previous work. It's an opportunity to bring together the creative, cultural, and educational experiences that have shaped my career and apply them in new ways.

At the heart of it all is the same goal: creating meaningful learning experiences that help people connect, discover what they're capable of, and grow.
